Northland cat boarding

About us

Rachael and David Seymour purchased the property in 2007, Rachael whom was previously a care giver for the elderly grew up on a family farm in the Waikato. She moved north in the early 1990's. A cat lover from way back, Rachael is now the main stay behind the day to day running of Deloraine.

Whangarei born and bred, David, is self employed, marketing and selling real estate with LJ Hooker, He has spent many years around all kinds of animals including cats and has a regular input to the running and up keep of the property.

So how did we come to be here?

The Deloraine was the last place we inspected that day, after looking at a number of local catteries to put our own cats while going on holiday. We were really impressed with the setup of this cattery and style of the whole property. As we drove out the gate we turned to each other and said, That would be the most fantastic property and business to own.
We laughed, Dreams are free.
Well......
The very next day, by some strange turn of events David heard that the owners of Deloraine were thinking of selling, so he rang them to find out.
David then phoned Rachael at work. “How badly would you like to own the Deloraine” he asked. “Don’t joke about things like that honey” she replied. " I'm not" David answered.

And the rest is history, David, Rachael, their family and 2 cats, Zeus and Biscuit, moved in.

As there is no rating system for boarding facilities in NZ our 5 star rating is self proclaimed, and based on feed back from customers and what you would expect from 5 Star accomodation for cats .... A bowl of fresh water each day, a large spacious rooms or Unit, a comfy cat bed, and full room service daily, breakfast and dinner served in your room each day, and a daily pampurr.

It is our mission to continue to ensure that all the cats in our care receive the best possible care and attention with the same friendly professional service that has set The Deloraine cattery apart from the rest.
